Kim Roziere

Born and raised in Brandon, Kim has deep roots in the community. Her passion for mental health began in high school while volunteering at the Brandon Mental Health Center. She later worked as a Crisis Worker while earning her two Bachelor of Science degrees one in Psychology and one in Psychiatric Nursing.

Since 2003, Kim has provided  psychiatric assessments and counselling through the Crisis Stabilization Unit, Mobile Crisis Unit, Child and Adolescent Treatment Center, and Community Trauma Team and the Critical Incident Stress Management Team. She is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (CRPNM, RHPA License #3183), a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistics, Certified in Sport Psychology and Athletic Counselling and a certified EMDR therapist.

Kim thoroughly enjoys helping people help themselves by figuring out how to overcome that which ails them, strengthen their individual attributes, diminish or eliminate ineffective, unhealthy mental strategies developed in coping with illness and trauma, and mapping out the life and health they desire. Kim is dedicated to helping individuals heal, grow, and achieve lasting well-being physically and mentally as both go hand in hand. She believes each person holds their own answers and sees her role as guiding them toward self-discovery, recovery, and holistic happiness.

Shawn Lehman

M.Ed. G & C, CCC, EMDR

Therapist

Shawn has 28 years of experience in education, including 21 years in school leadership and 5 years in school counseling. He holds Master’s degrees in Educational Administration and Counselling in Education, and is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (License #11248346).​

 

He specializes in working with children and individuals facing mental health struggles, trauma, grief, addictions, peer pressure, bullying, and crises. Shawn offers counselling in group settings, couples therapy, and individual support for mental health challenges.​

 

Using a client-centered approach, Shawn applies Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients set goals, gain perspective, and challenge themselves. In 2024, he became a certified EMDR therapist, utilizing a bi-lateral neural stimulation technique to aid trauma recovery and promote natural healing. In 2025, he recieved certification training in Sport Psychology and Athletic Counselling.

Nikki Ragush

Nikki, a Brandon native, completed her Master’s in Professional Counselling through Yorkville University and is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (License #11252868). Passionate about psychology since high school, she believes health encompasses all areas of life—social, emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual.​

With twelve years of counselling experience working with youth and their families, Nikki has helped guide individuals of all ages. She is comfortable integrating spirituality into counselling sessions, respecting clients' diverse beliefs and values.​

​

Nikki’s client-centered approach emphasizes collaboration and empowering clients to recognize their strengths. She believes prioritizing mental health fosters personal growth. Outside of work, Nikki enjoys coaching and playing soccer, caring for foster cats, and cooking. She continues to expand her skills through ongoing training in the counselling field including becoming an EMDR Therapist in 2025, and certification training in Sport Psychology and Athletic Counselling in 2026.

Taylor Blue

Therapist

Taylor has completed his Bachelor of Social Work (RSW License #6386) from the University of Regina. Taylor also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from Brandon University—where he was also a proud member of the Brandon Bobcats Men’s soccer team. Since 2017, he has been a certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Timeline Therapy, training for EMDR Therapist in 2025, and certification training in Sport Psychology and Athletic Counselling in 2026.

Born and raised in Brandon, Taylor’s passion for mental health was deeply influenced by his grandfather, Dr. Arthur Blue, who earned a doctorate in child psychology and founded the Department of Native Studies at Brandon University.

​

Taylor’s professional experience includes providing trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic violence as a Non-Residential Support Worker at the YWCA Westman Women’s Shelter. He later joined Child and Family Services of Western Manitoba as part of the Intake Team, where he conducted family assessments and provided child protection services.

​

Taylor takes a generalist-eclectic approach to therapy which emphasizes holistic and multilevel assessment, empowering individuals through a strong therapeutic relationship, and the flexible use of a wide range of theories and interventions tailored to each person’s unique situation.

​

Taylor is committed to working alongside individuals, couples, and families in a nonjudgmental, collaborative way—meeting people where they are at and supporting them in creating meaningful change.

Allysen Picklyk

BSW (Grad 2026)

Student Therapist

Allysen is a social work student at the University of Manitoba and is currently completing her last year, including a final practicum with Ember & Ash Counselling Inc. Prior to joining Ember & Ash, Allysen worked in the palliative care unit at the Brandon Hospital, at the military clinic located at CFB Shilo, and volunteered at the Military Family Resource Center. Upon graduation in April of 2026 Allysen plans to join Ember & Ash and continue providing services to the community of Brandon.

​

Throughout her education Allysen has taken a particular interest in end-of-life care, trauma work, family dynamics, and Indigenous world views. As a Metis woman Allysen has expanded her knowledge of Indigenous world views and incorporates holistic methods into her practice. Allysen believes in meeting people where they are at and acknowledges that people are the experts in their own lives. Allysen’s knowledge of anti-oppressive practice, trauma informed care, and social work ethics ensures that those she works with feel safe and welcome to be their authentic selves.

In her spare time Allysen enjoys spending time outside exploring nature with her husband, son and dog. Allysen strives to promote health and well being and knows the importance of all aspects of a person including their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being. Her goal with her practice is to walk alongside people as they navigate the difficult challenges of life.

Derek Gross

Student Therapist

Derek Gross is a Brandon, Manitoba native who is currently completing his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University while working toward his Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation. With a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy, he brings a thoughtful and reflective approach to his counselling work. Derek has also completed specialized certification training in Sport Psychology and Athletic Counselling through PESI.​

​

Derek’s diverse career spans over 30 years and includes experience at various levels within corporate settings, the public sector, the trades, and as the owner of a construction business. These roles have helped him develop strong problem-solving skills, deep empathy, and a genuine curiosity about the lives and experiences of his clients.

​

He is passionate about fostering resilience and helping others build meaningful narratives. Derek’s client-centered approach draws from solution-focused strategies, existential counselling, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). He aims to create a supportive, safe space where clients can navigate challenges and move toward healing, understanding, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Active in the Brandon community, Derek has coached youth sports, volunteered with the Boy Scouts, and currently supports local Prison Ministries. He has been married for 20 years and is the proud father of two teenage boys who both excel in athletics.

Linde MacDiarmid

BA, MA Counselling Psychology (Grad 2026), CCC (qualifying)

Student Therapist

Linde MacDiarmid is a Brandon based student counsellor currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University while working toward her Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation. With a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Western University and a Primary Care Paramedic diploma from Red River College, she brings a grounded, relational, and systems-aware perspective to her clinical work.

 

Linde’s 13-year career in healthcare includes roles as a Paramedic, Crisis Worker, Patient Services Manager at Brandon Regional Health Centre, System Status Controller at the Medical Transportation Coordination Centre, and Manager of Health Services – EMS Operations with Shared Health Emergency Response Services. These experiences have shaped her deep respect for the complexity of human resilience and the unique challenges faced by individuals

working within high-pressure environments. Her work has consistently centered on psychological safety, mental health support, and holistic well-being.

 

Her counselling approach integrates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic principles, and humanistic models, with particular interest in crisis intervention and trauma-informed care. Linde strives to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to explore their experiences at a pace that feels safe.

She values clear communication, collaborative meaning-making, and an attuned presence that honours each client’s strengths and lived story.

 

Having moved frequently throughout her childhood, travelled extensively in her twenties, and taught English in Taiwan for over a year, Linde brings a culturally curious and globally informed lens to her work. She now calls Brandon home and is dedicated to fostering resilience, connection, and meaningful growth in the clients she serves.

Sheryl Cline

Office Manager

Born and raised in Manitoba, Sheryl brings a rich and varied background to Ember and
Ash, with experience in corrections, her own childcare business, and most recently as
administrative staff at a busy physiotherapy clinic. She has completed extra training in
Respectful Workplace practices, Crisis Intervention, and Communication and
Interviewing, which supports her calm, professional approach to team and client
interactions.


Sheryl has a strong passion for providing a welcoming environment for both staff and
clients alike. She hopes to help ensure Ember and Ash is a positive space where clients
feel safe, valued, and appreciated.


Married for over 20 years and a proud mom to one son, Sheryl is also a dedicated dog
lover and runner. She enjoys spending time in the garden, cooking, exploring the
outdoors, and curling up with a good book whenever she can.
